What is allergy?
Allergy is a “hypersensitivity” reaction, or exaggerated “sensitivity” to substances that are normally tolerated. Such substances are known as allergens. Examples of common allergens include: food, house dust mite, grass pollen, animals and medicines and others.

These allergens trigger production of a harmful antibody known as immunoglobulin E (IgE). In an allergic reaction the interaction between the IgE and the allergen causes the release of inflammatory chemicals such as histamine and leukotrienes. In turn, these cause symptoms such as sneezes and itches, rashes and falls in blood pressure and airway narrowing which leads to difficulty breathing. Sometimes symptoms are caused by other mechanisms where IgE is not involved, instead IgG or IgA.

We determine the cause of patients’ allergies with cutting edge scientific Blood Allergy IgE, IgG and IgA profiles, which are very specific and highly reliable. We use single allergens as well as mixes, and the allergen categories are tightly defined: food, inhalants, shellfish, finfish, antibiotics, cereal, and insects. We aim to find and treat the underlying cause of patients’ allergic reactions. Customised nutritional plans combined with individually formulated medicinal plant extracts and Nutritional supplements have proven successful in the long term in many patients.
